Tramlines 2012

Official confirmation has been made today of the dates for Sheffield’s 2012 Tramlines festival. Launched in 2009, this will be the 4th year for the city wide free event that continues to go from strength to strength. Indeed 2011 saw Tramlines scoop the ‘Best Metropolitan Festival’ gong at The UK Festival Awards, beating the likes of the Camden Crawl and Dot To Dot.

You can read our thoughts on last year’s happenings here. Tramlines 2012 will take place on Friday 20th July to Sunday 22nd July.

Announcements on headliners are expected by the end of March. Idle speculation would of course be just that, but with Richard Hawley releasing a new record in May, and talk of Pulp doing a hometown show this summer, well either of those could make for a particularly cracking closer on the big stage come the Sunday night…
